The agreement
Kugb (“Kugb”, “we”) provides the Kugb app and website. By creating an account or using the Kugb app or website, you agree to these terms and our Community guidelines. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your information. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Kugb.
Who can use Kugb
You must be at least 16, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. You can’t use Kugb if we’ve already removed you from it, or if the law prevents you from using it.
Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
- Your username can’t impersonate anyone or mislead people. We can change or reclaim a username that does.
You can change where you live a limited number of times, as shown in the app. Don’t misrepresent where you are or where you’re from in order to mislead people.
Kugb isn’t professional advice
Most of what’s on Kugb comes from other users. It’s general information based on people’s own experience, and it isn’t legal, immigration, financial, tax, medical or other professional advice.
- Rules differ from place to place and change often. Check important information with an official source or a qualified professional before you act on it.
- Resource badges, including “Verified by Kugb”, mean our team has looked at a resource. They don’t guarantee it’s complete, correct or still current, or that it applies to you.
- We don’t vet the people you meet here. Be careful when you meet anyone in person, share documents or send money.
- Sponsored posts and partner content come from third parties, and we aren’t responsible for what they offer.
Your content
What you post stays yours. To run Kugb, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, adapt (for example, resize or translate), display and distribute your content on Kugb and to promote Kugb, in line with the audience you choose. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people have already shared, backups kept for a limited time, and anything we must keep by law.
You’re responsible for what you post. You confirm that you have the rights to share it and that it doesn’t break the law or our guidelines.
If you turn your contributor profile off, the resources you’ve shared stay up unless you remove them.
Rules for using Kugb
Follow our Community guidelines. You also agree not to:
- break the law or help anyone else to do so
- scrape or bulk-collect data from Kugb, or use it to build a competing service or train AI models, without our written permission
- probe, overload or get around the security or limits of Kugb
- use bots or fake accounts, or manipulate reach, badges or the leaderboard
- reverse engineer the app, unless the law allows it
- collect or track other people’s location or personal details
Kugb+ and payments
- Subscriptions: Kugb+ and the Ad-free add-on are auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscriptions. The price and what’s included are shown in the app before you buy.
- Billing: your App Store or Google Play account is charged at purchase and each time your subscription renews, until you cancel.
- Cancelling: cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings at least 24 hours before renewal. Your features last until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your Kugb account doesn’t cancel your subscription.
- Refunds: these are handled by Apple or Google under their rules, and you keep any rights your local law gives you.
- Changes: if a price goes up, we or the store will tell you beforehand and you can cancel before it applies.
- Verification: the Kugb+ badge needs an active subscription and a confirmed phone number and ID. It shows that we’ve checked an account, and it isn’t an endorsement of the person.
Ads
Kugb shows sponsored posts, which helps keep it free. Our Privacy policy explains how we choose them.
Kugb’s rights
The Kugb name, logo, app and website belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose while you follow these terms. If you send us feedback, we can use it without owing you anything.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Kugb infringes your copyright, email support@kugb.social with your contact details, the work, where the content is on Kugb, and a statement that you own the rights or act for the owner and that your complaint is accurate. We may remove the content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Moderation and ending your account
We can remove content, or limit, suspend or close accounts, if someone breaks these terms or our guidelines, or to protect people or Kugb, or to comply with the law. We’ll usually tell you why, unless that would be unsafe or unlawful. If you disagree, email support@kugb.social.
You can deactivate or delete your account at any time in Settings → Your account. Sections of these terms that are meant to continue, such as liability, still apply after your account ends.
Changes to Kugb
Kugb is growing, so features will change, and some may be added, limited or removed. We’ll try to tell you first about any big change. If we stop offering Kugb altogether, we’ll give you reasonable notice where we can.
No guarantees
We work hard on Kugb, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise it will always be available or error-free, or that information on it is accurate. We aren’t responsible for what other users or third parties post, say or do, on or off Kugb.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Kugb isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, including a decision you make based on information on Kugb, such as a visa, housing or job decision. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability or rights that the law says can’t be limited, including your rights as a consumer where you live.
Disputes and governing law
If something goes wrong, please email support@kugb.social first, and we’ll try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Kugb is based, and its courts will handle disputes. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
If you use the iPhone app
These terms are between you and Kugb, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its support, or for claims about it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property. If the app doesn’t match any applicable warranty, you can tell Apple, who may refund the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty duty. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms against you as third-party beneficiaries.
General
- Changes to these terms: if we make an important change, we’ll tell you before it takes effect. If you keep using Kugb afterwards, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can close your account.
- Transfer: we can transfer these terms to a new owner of Kugb. You can’t transfer them without our agreement.
- If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a term, that doesn’t mean we give up the right to do so later.
